This basket is hand-woven in the traditional style of the Dine {Navajo} Nation Native Americans of the Southwest. : Detailed Basket Description: This basket measures approximately 19″ across. This basket artwork design is a contemporary amalgamation of a classic Navajo design coupled with swaths of freeform, bolder colors. Approximately seven different colors were used by the artist in the creation of the particular basket. All the materials used in the fabrication of this basket excluding the color dyes, are natural materials commonly used in the art of basket making {esp. by contemporary Navajo basket artists} This basket can be attributed to the well-known basket maker Elsie Holiday of Monument Valley, Arizona. Ms. Holiday is a 4/4 member of the Navajo Nation, Arizona. This basket was created by Ms. Holiday in the early 2000s. The basket is in excellent condition, like new.
