The owls are portrayed perched in the trees with some elements of mist in the air. Nice detail work throughout especially the feathers and talons. The faces are serene but one senses the hunt is afoot. Lovely art for the cottage or den.

HERES A LARGE ORIGINAL VINTAGE SIGNED AND DATED 1986 MODERN COLLOTYPE LITHOGRAPH COLOR ART PRINT CREATED BY IPSWICH, SUFFOLK, ENGLAND WILDLIFE ARTIST RAYMOND WATSON (1935-1994) TITLED THE TAWNY OWL THAT DISPLAYS A WOODSY LANDSCAPE OF TWO (2) BROWN AND WHITE WOODLAND OWLS WITH BLACK EYES STANDING ON A FALLEN BIRCH TREE LOG WITH A GROVE OF BIRCH TREES BEHIND THEM!
Dimensions: The image-size of the collotype lithograph measures approximately seventeen and one quarter inches (17 1/4) in height by thirteen and five eighths inches (13 5/8) in width. The prints sheet-paper size that can be viewed within the matting measures approximately eighteen inches (18) in height by fourteen inches (14) in width but is most likely larger as it extends underneath the matte board. The overall dimensions of the wooden frame are approximately twenty six and three eighths inches (26 3/8) in height by twenty one and seven eighths inches (21 7/8) in width.
Signature: Artist-signed and dated in pencil along the bottom right margin area Raymond Watson 86 and he created a small pencil drawing of an owls face. In addition, there is a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) on the frames backside that provides the artworks title, name of the artist, guarantee of the artists signature and date, type of printing process collotype, and that the artwork was created exclusively for the Franklin Gallery. The COA goes on to provide a lengthy write-up about the tawny owl.
