This case/holder is cylindrical and measures approximately 25″ x 4.5″. Constructed using rawhide (most likely from cow or buffalo) and sewn together using from the 1700’s. This case/holder has printed artwork designed elements such as Plains Indian style diamond designs, fringe, feathers and brass bead accents. These design elements are well known to the indigenous, Native American primitive artists of the Indian nations located in the central United States, such as the: Sioux, Crow, Blackfoot, and many others. These design elements are often replicated at will and/or altered by Plains nation primitives’ artists.
